The Wolfman's Birthday....

An eerie Harvest moon... and the next day was Shawn's birthday. We had discussed a porch party with Steph, but nothing had come of it. However, Reva and I hadn't forgotten....

Reva and George brought down a bottle of wine and a meat and cheese tray with crackers...

so I went inside and got our gift.

Steph was weary from work and hadn't wrapped his gift yet. She went inside to do so, and came out with it like this (the wrapping is on the side facing him). I have to say that her wrapping job is one reason I love her. She's practical. Men DO NOT CARE if it's wrapped, but I digress.

If you click on the above photo and look at his eyes, you get the sense that the moon has had far too much of an effect on Shawn. Had he grown hair and fangs, I wouldn't have been surprised.

Instead, he opened his gift and loved it.

Apparently he's been wanting some of this artists work for a while, and Steph got him one. What the artist does is take old windows and paints cityscapes of Chicago on the back...

and the front ends up looking like this.

Then, we all relaxed until Steph asked the dangerous question, "Is anyone else hungry?". We didn't have time to inhale to answer when she said, "I'm ordering Chinese! It's on me!"

Wrig and Krame were excited, or maybe they had seen too much of the moon as well.

The food came and we ate. And ate. And ate.

Come here, my Pretty....

Afterwards leftovers were doled out, the moon found her path and we parted company. Another birthday done and dusted and enjoyed.

God, living here can be a joy.

Catching up, and I have to comment on the juxtaposition of the last post and this. We worry about how we'll all get by and we even lose sleep over it, and yet we ultimately continue on with friends, with fun, with life.

*grin* It always looks like you have such a blast with your neighbours. I'm happy you've got such a great little community going.

I miss "seeing" you on a regular basis Robin. It makes me sad that I don't have the time these days to get around and see you and Whim and all my other blogger-friends like I used to. I hope you're doing well. (((((HUGS)))))

It sure looks like you ate and ate or should I say it sound like you ate and drank.
So glad all had a great time.

I miss seeing you too, Kati. But, I stop by your place, daily. Things will change.
